 INTERACTIVE

These interactive wearable projects perform a function, or react to the wearer or the environment.

Light Painting Glove

I made this light painting glove for painting with light using long exposure photography. The glove houses a microcontroller and battery for powering several different interchangeable LED “brushes” which can be attached to the palm of the glove.

Wearable Game Controller Hoodie

I added a microcontroller, conductive fabric panels, and felt “feathers” to a hoodie to create a wearable game controller for playing Flappy Bird. The wearer “flaps” their arms to make the in-game bird fly, for more immersive game play.

Sound Reactive MASK

The lights on this mask are sound reactive. I added a microcontroller, microphone, and NeoPixel LEDs to a purchased mask. When sound is detected, the lights flash. I programmed the mask in Circuit Python, and colors and animations can be changed with code.

Sound Sampler Glove

This audio sampler glove contains a microcontroller, speaker, battery, and TFT screen. Connections are made with conductive thread sewn throughout the glove. Sounds can be loaded onto the microcontroller, then triggered by touching any of the capacitive metal fingertips. Album artwork can be displayed on the screen on the back of the hand. My “Meow Synth” glove plays a different “meow” on each finger.

nfc data cufflinks

I made these cufflinks by embedding a tiny NFC tag in tinted resin. The NFC tag can be loaded with data (a password, secret text message, or url, for example) and read with any NFC reader or NFC capable phone.
