FASHION TECH

These projects are inspired by fashion, aesthetic expression, and explorations of physical identity.

3D printed LED Jacket MOD

This jacket has been adorned with 3D printed translucent hexagons and individually addressable LEDs. I printed the hexagons in PLA directly onto black nylon mesh fabric to create a flexible appliqué that could be sewn to the back of the jacket. The LEDs can be programmed with visual animations and patterns in any color, or made to respond to ambient sound, temperature, or the wearer’s movement. Full tutorial and downloadable files for this project were published in issue 18 of HackSpace Magazine and in my book, Wearable Tech Projects.

Temperature Sensitive Skirt

This skirt contains LEDs that change color based on the temperature of its surroundings. the LED circuit is completely removable for easy laundering of the skirt. Full tutorial for this project is included in my book, Wearable Tech Projects, published by Raspberry Pi Press.

Lasercut LED Jewelry

These pendants are all made of layers of laser cut wood and acrylic. The electronic components are hidden under the layers for a clean, minimal aesthetic. I wrote a full tutorial for this project, published in issue 19 of HackSpace Magazine and in my book.
